How to use the AI image editor
Give the editor a clear source image and a focused instruction. You can do the whole edit in your browser.
Upload the image you want to edit
Start with a clear product photo, portrait, illustration, or poster. Make sure the details you want to preserve are visible in the uploaded image.
Describe the change and what to keep
Write the edit first, then list the details to preserve. Choose the output ratio and check the displayed credit cost before submitting.
Compare and download the result
Check the edited image against the original, then download the version you want. For another pass, upload that result and give the next focused instruction.
What is included in the free online editor?
Start with 3 free credits per day as a guest, or 5 per day when signed in. The daily balance is shared by image generation and editing. Availability and network limits apply; the editor shows your remaining allowance.
Free edits use a GPT Image option at 1K, one result at a time, with up to two reference images. Higher resolutions, other models, and larger batches require account credits.
AI image editor prompts you can adapt
Upload a suitable source photo before using any of these examples. Each instruction pairs a requested change with details to preserve.
Replace the background
Using the uploaded product photo, replace the background with a warm gray studio wall. Preserve the product shape, label, color, and camera angle as closely as possible. Add a soft contact shadow.
Use a product photo. Check the label, silhouette, and shadow against the original.
Recolor one object
In the uploaded room photo, change only the blue sofa fabric to terracotta orange. Keep its texture, seams, shape, cushions, and position. Preserve the wall, floor, and other furniture colors.
Use an interior photo. Look for color changes outside the sofa.
Soften portrait lighting
Edit the uploaded portrait to have soft window light from the left and gentler shadows. Preserve the person’s facial features, expression, hairstyle, clothing, and pose as closely as possible.
Use a clear portrait. Compare the face, skin tone, and shadow direction.
Change an illustration’s palette
Using the uploaded illustration, change the palette to sage green, cream, and terracotta. Preserve the arrangement of the shapes and the empty area on the left. Keep the illustration style and add no text.
Use an illustration. Check that the layout and empty text area remain usable.
Restyle a photo as watercolor
Reinterpret the uploaded landscape photo as a watercolor illustration with soft edges and visible paper texture. Keep the horizon, main buildings, and foreground tree in their original positions.
Use a landscape photo. Compare the main landmarks and composition.
Update a poster background
Using the uploaded poster, change the cream background to pale pink. Preserve the illustration placement, dark green title, and empty bottom area as closely as possible. Add no new lettering or decorations.
Use a poster draft. Proofread the title again after the background change.
Control your edit with references, prompts, and settings
The source image sets the context. Your instruction and output settings guide the change.
Choose an output size
Try the edit at 1K using free daily credits. With account credits, supported models offer up to 4K; a larger output still needs a close detail check.
Keep or change the framing
Choose a matching ratio to stay close to the original composition. For a new placement, select another ratio and describe how the subject should be framed.
Edit images with text prompts
Tell the editor the desired change and the features to preserve. A focused request is easier to assess than several unrelated edits in one instruction.
Use a clear reference photo
Choose an image where labels, outlines, and facial features are easy to see. A reference guides the result, but does not guarantee identical details.
Compare editing variations
Account credits allow up to four results per request where supported. Keep the source and prompt fixed when comparing outputs; each result contributes to the credit cost.
Choose gallery visibility
Turn off Public Visibility before submitting an edit you do not want listed in the public gallery. Review this setting for each new request.
Models available for reference-image edits
Choose among the GPT Image and Nano Banana options when editing an uploaded photo. Free access uses a GPT Image option; additional choices depend on your account credits.
GPT Image 2 / GPT Image 2.5
GPT Image 2.5 is the default option, and GPT Image 2 remains available. Both accept a photo and editing instructions.
Free: 1K · account credits: up to 4K

What can you change in an existing image?
Use a text instruction to request a targeted change, then review the parts you wanted to keep.
Replace a product background
Request a studio wall, a tabletop, or a lifestyle setting behind your product. Compare packaging, labels, and proportions with the original.
Change an object’s color
Name the object and the target color, then ask to preserve its material, shape, and surroundings. Check nearby areas for unintended color changes.
Adjust light and atmosphere
Ask for softer shadows, warmer light, or a different time of day. Compare skin tones and product colors if those details matter to your image.
Restyle an illustration
Turn an uploaded drawing into a paper-cut, watercolor, or poster-style interpretation. Name the shapes and composition you want to retain.
Refresh a portrait background
Replace a distracting background or request softer lighting around the person. Review the face afterward; reference edits can change facial details.
Revise a poster or cover
Change the palette or background while requesting the same layout and empty text areas. Proofread any existing lettering again after the edit.
Review your edited image before downloading
Compare the change you requested and the details you meant to keep. If one part is wrong, adjust that instruction for the next edit.
Compare the subject
For reference edits, check product proportions, facial features, logos, and other details that were meant to stay the same.
Read every word
Zoom in on labels and headlines. Repeated letters, incorrect numbers, or unexpected text can be easy to miss in a small preview.
Check the final crop
Preview the downloaded image in the layout where it will appear. If the crop is wrong, revise the framing or generate a different ratio.

AI image editor FAQ
Free access, upload requirements, editing limits, and downloading your results.
Yes. Daily free credits cover eligible 1K edits with a GPT Image option, one result at a time and up to two references. The allowance is shared with image generation and subject to service and network limits. The editor shows your remaining credits.
Guest editing is available with daily free credits. Signing in provides a larger daily allowance. When free credits run out, you can wait for the reset or use account credits.
Upload the source image, describe the change, and list what should stay the same. For example: replace the background with a gray wall; keep the product shape, label, and angle. Submit the edit, then compare the result with the original.
No. AI image editing creates a new image guided by your reference and prompt. Faces, lettering, proportions, or small objects can also change. Review important details carefully; this workflow does not provide layer or brush-mask controls.
GPT Image and the Nano Banana options accept references. Free access uses a GPT Image option; the other models require account credits.
Free edits use 1K output. With account credits, GPT Image, Nano Banana 2, and Nano Banana Pro offer size options up to 4K. Check the downloaded image’s actual pixel dimensions for the layout where you will use it.
Common photo formats such as JPG, PNG, and WebP are supported. Free editing accepts up to two reference images, each up to 20 MB. Guest reference images can be reused for 24 hours; upload them again after they expire. Use a clear source where the details you care about are visible. Paid upload limits are shown in the editor.
You can request a wording change in the prompt, quoting the exact replacement text and its position. Results can contain spelling or spacing errors. For precise typography, edit the background here and add the final text in a layout tool.
Check Public Visibility before submitting. Turn it off if you do not want the result listed publicly. This setting controls gallery visibility; it does not mean that images are never processed or stored by the service.
Focus on one issue at a time. Make the requested change more specific and list the details to preserve. Keep the same source when comparing prompts, or upload a promising result for the next editing pass.
